Have you heard of Golden Milk? It is rooted in Ayurveda and it's a great addition to your nightly routine. These warming and calming spices mixed with your choice of milk will calm your mind, soothe your body, and make your eyelids heavy!
Here's a super easy concentrate to make that will last up to 5 weeks when stored in your refrigerator.
Golden Milk Concentrate
Tools:
Small Saucepan
Airtight Container (my favorite is a small canning jar, the 4 or 6oz jelly jars)
Whisk
Ingredients: This is just a balanced starting point, you may find you want to increase certain spices. Personally, I triple this base recipe for our family of 3 and share a couple containers with friends)
1/4 cup Powdered Turmeric
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Alcohol Free Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon Cardamom
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 inch Fresh Ginger (grated)
1/4 cup Coconut Oil
1/2 cup Water
Steps:
1) In your saucepan mix water and powdered turmeric (bring to a light simmer)
2) Add all other ingredients (except the coconut oil) and gently whisk for the next 3-5 minutes.
3) Add the coconut oil and continue whisking
4) Remove from heat and transfer the paste to your airtight container.
5) Store in refrigerator for up to 5 weeks.
Make Your Cup Of Golden Milk:
In a saucepan
Mix 1-2 tablespoons of Golden Milk Paste
with 1 cup Milk of Choice
Top it off with some extra Black Pepper or Cinnamon
